Dr. Debra A. Stover

SISTER, FRIEND, ENTREPRENEUR. NURSE PRACTITIONER.

Debra Ann Stover is a free-spirited and genuine woman who is willing to work, has a burning desire, and is teachable. She is extremely determined and willing to go the distance. Debra is a woman on a mission to empower others to identify and fulfill their destiny. She accomplishes this by paying it forward, reaching and teaching others, and encouraging them to do the same.

She was in a Group Home and Foster Care in Decatur, GA. After time spent in Group Home and Foster Care, she returned home to Birmingham. She is the third child of nine During this time, this is when Debra realized that one of her passions in life was to help others. Despite the challenges of growing up in the Foster Care/Group Home, having to struggle while living in Foster Care; without a stable home and an uncertain future.

In January 1992, Debra Studied Long hours and received her GED after that achievement on the third try to obtain a score high enough to satisfy the overall score to pass. She took an entry- level test for the Practical Nurse Program. Debra was accepted into the program and started her study toward becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

In March 1992, Debra started as a Practical Nurse at West Central Alabama, in Birmingham, Alabama. The education was focused on caring for Patients with illness and management of all diseases as well as Nutrition Management. Provided by JTPA through the Welfare office to assist Mothers to get off welfare.

In March 1993, Debra completed the Practical Nurse program. Started the study process for taking the NCLEX exam to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. In May 1993 She took the Exam and passed on the first try. Continued to work as an LPN for Thirteen years working as

In 2001, Debra began school and started her studies to become a Registered Nurse (RN). While continuing to work full-time at Traditions Health and Rehab she attended the local college at Georgia Perimeter (GPC) and did online studies through Excelsior at the same time. Completed the Studies in February 2006 and went on to pass the NCLEX yet again on the first attempt in May of 2006. Debra went on for eleven years to work as an RN in Long Term Care and Hospitals before enrolling in school to pursue a Bachelor's (BSN). Completed my BSN Degree in April 2014 and my Master in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on Nurse Practitioner in February 2017.

In 2001, Debra began school and started her studies to become a Registered Nurse (RN). In March 2018, Debra took and passed the certification Exam for Nurse Practitioners after several multiple attempts. Becoming certified as a Nurse Practitioner was a great accomplishment and proved to be a lot of work. In February 2020 Debra started the Doctorate of Nurse Practitioners (DNP) and completed her DNP in late 2022. In January 2023, Debra was able to go to Florida and walk across the state with her class and officially obtain her degree. This is only the beginning.
